In So Many Words

I'm a designer and recent University of Minnesota graduate living in lovely Minneapolis. As riveting as it is, I'll spare you the account of the fledgling artist who doodled in his homework margins.

My focus is on creating work that tells a story while still maintaining practicality and functionality. I'm inspired by everything from traditional print design to contemporary web design, all glued together with a keen typographic sensibility. This is sitting on my coffee table, along with a few issues of Print, Communication Arts, and this month's GQ so guests don't think I'm too odd.

Much of my experience stems from years at The Minnesota Daily, where I learned more about offset printing, retail advertising, and layout design than I could have otherwise. That said, I've always been most attracted to the web, which is where I discovered this profession over ten years ago.

Jack of Most Trades

I've always gone out of my way to learn new things, both on my own and during my education. From letterpress to interface design, I'm interested.

Take a look at my resumé.

The Site

This site is an extension of my print portfolio and identity developed in early 2009. I used XHTML and CSS for markup, ExpressionEngine for content management, and a touch of jQuery to make it sparkle.
